Job Description:
A team member will be trained for and will participate in all aspects of the operation. There's a lot of cooking, selling, meeting and serving the public, large-scale prep, lifting, display grilling, competing, setting up, cleaning, tearing down and moving on to the next event. Some days short, some pretty long. Food service experience not necessary but helpful.
Necessary: reasonably good physical strength and speed; an engaging, smiling personality; an eager meet-the-public spirit; strength of character; a vocal and energetic sales ability; and a strong team spirit of working together toward the goals of the enterprise. Driver's license is a major plus. Minimum age, 19.
Typical work week is setup day (partial day) on Thursday, operational days (full days) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Long weekends have an additional full operational day. After training, Ribfest pay is $150 cash/day for full days, $75 cash for setup days. (Payout weekly on last day of each event). In addition, the team splits cash tips left by the public. Travel expenses (lodging, transport) are paid or provided when shows are more than 1-2 hours drive from GTA.
Catering pay rate is hourly, at $20/hr after training.
