Online networking initially started off as a social phenomenon.  Sites like Facebook and MySpace became great ways to keep in touch with friends and family, regardless of the physical distances that may separate people, and online dating sites became a viable way to meet new people. 

The job market is not in great shape right now, so employment openings for recent college graduates aren’t as available as they once were.  But despite this, there are still opportunities for those who know where to look, and one of those places is in part time job listings.  

Temp work can be a mixed bag.  On the one hand, there are stories of those who got placed in a temp position who went on to work full time and made all sorts of advancements and contacts.  On the other, there are those who got placed in a temp job and didn’t make it through the first two hours.  Check out this article from an individual who has experienced the pros and cons of temp work.

Science and its applications have always been an important part of the job market and the economy.  After all, where would the entire consumer electronics industry be without scientific advancements?  

Writing a solid resume can seem like a daunting task, but if you follow these steps, you can have a first draft completed in very little time.  Once you have that draft, let it sit for a day, and then go back  and revise it with an eye towards grammar and conciseness, then ask a family member, friend, academic advisor, etc. to review it for you and make suggestions.


For students and graduates a major stumbling block when it comes to employment is their lack of experience.  For individuals looking to build their career profile and increase their 'hireability' there are many ways that it can be done.


A student's life....September to April....8 Months...Studying, coffee, greasy food, and partying. 

 After 8 straight months of mixing those ingredients together it would throw anyone off track.


Well, this is that time of year school is done for four months or so and your probably in the need of some cash. Whether your saving for next years studies or simply looking to keeping your head above water until your next wave of student loans is set to come in. Either way we all have our reasons for getting that summer job after exams are done.

Here are some ideas of places to look for your summer job . I  admit that some of these spots are probably not the most appealing places to seek out your summer job but in the end it is all about the money. Right?



No roommate situation is ever going to be perfect, but by giving it some thought before you actually choose a roommate and things can turn out fine.

Friends and roommates are two completely different things.  Just because you think your best friend is the coolest person on this planet, doesn’t mean that he or she will make a good roommate.

It’s wise to be realistic and be prepared for conflicts because they will happen.


Whether they want to go to college, to a technical school, or simply work, they must decide sooner or later what they plan to do after high school. Many freshmen look at me with surprise when I mention paid work; others shrug their shoulders and let me know that they are already helping the family. In any case, it is never too early to think about it.
