Well, this is that time of year school is done for four months or so and your probably in the need of some cash. Whether your saving for next years studies or simply looking to keeping your head above water until your next wave of student loans is set to come in. Here are some ideas of places to look for your summer job . I admit that some of these spots are probably not the most appealing places to seek out your summer job but in the end it is all about the money. Right?
When searching for a summer job you should seek out places where there business activities pick up during the months of May to August. Some examples are:
- Corporate offices: many well known organization have established summer jobs and internship programs, but often these are the most competitive.
- Local government summer job programs: often government agencies sponsor different kinds of summer work programs for both high school and post-secondary students.
- Parks and recreation departments: city, state, and national parks and recreation departments often develop special summer programs and like the corporate offices these programs are usually very competitive.
- Summer camps: many people went to camp as a child, why not go and get paid as a counselor. If you click here you can go to a popular job board that has many camp positions available.
- Golf & Tennis clubs: after the weather turns the corner these types of businesses begin to ramp up for their busy season, creating various types of positions.
- Hotels,Resorts & Tourist Attractions: these businesses are also beginning to prepare for the busiest time of year which is tourist season, creating additional openings within their operations.
- Fast Food, restaurants, grocery stores, stores at the mall and local merchants: all of these places are always looking for good help.
- Working for yourself: there are always opportunities out in your community where you could potentially develop something into a job/business
