Student Job Link's Resources

A short description about your blog

All things are created twice. First time in our minds and then in reality.   Stephen R. Covey explains this principle magnificently in his highly-acclaimed book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, when he says that “We are more in need of a vision or destination and a compass and less in need of a road map.”

Successful entrepreneurs are leaders not managers.  They are the ones that have the dream: the vision.

Just like almost anything in life, the entrepreneurial mind has to be constantly nurtured and developed in order to be effective over time.

A lot of books have been written on what makes an entrepreneur successful and various research was conducted in order to determine why some businesses fail while others seem to flourish incessantly. Case studies on past and present established entrepreneurs have invariably concluded that in order to be successful in business, one must possess the following three very important characteristics.

Entrepreneurs are Excellent Observers
An entrepreneurial mind is a sharp observer of human nature.  How do people behave in certain situations, what makes them happy, what makes them tick? If you can identify a need and provide a service or product that can meet that need and solve people’s problems then you could have a good thing on your hands.  You don’t have to re-invent the wheel to be successful, but what most successful entrepreneurs actually do is simply observe people and identify ways of how they can make people’s lives better.

Entrepreneurs are Curious
Successful entrepreneurs do not take things at face value. They’re eternally curious. They question the norm and probe further until they are able to get the full picture. They have the uncanny ability to visualize what needs to be done to make things better when everyone else simply accept the norm. Successful entrepreneurs see way beyond what others see.
An entrepreneurial mind does not stop at the first “It’s what we’ve always done around here.”  Efficient entrepreneurship makes one curious and enthusiastic to go find new better ways of how to do things.  Successful entrepreneurs lead the way.

Entrepreneurs have Unlimited Determination
Intentions get you nowhere. Determination does. From an early age, we are constantly faced with stumbling blocks and long wobbly bridges that we have to cross to succeed.

An entrepreneurial mind welcomes challenges and transforms each into small victories.  How do you behave when faced with a small challenge? Do you choose the “easy” way out and stop pursuing that task or do you press ahead and take pride into getting there no matter what?

Cultivating a determined spirit will do you a world of good.  Even if you never pursue the entrepreneurial path, determination can prove to be your greatest ally in helping you lead a happy and fulfilling life.
