North York General Hospital

North York has one of the GTA's largest cancer care centres with recognized expertise in breast, colon, and prostate cancers. They are there from the beginning, catching cancer at its earliest onset with thorough screening, diagnosing with the best tools available, treating with the utmost care and following up with the greatest compassion.
The interdisciplinary team of highly skilled health care professionals including physicians, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, oncologists, nurses, medical imaging professionals, case managers, geneticists and genetic counselors, and volunteers, treat each patient with kindness and understanding. Their cancer specialists work closely with Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) and partner with regional centres to facilitate radiation treatments for our patients.

As active researchers and educators, too, North York is always looking for the best possible outcomes for our patients when it comes to treatment through drug therapy trials, early prevention through clinical studies and detection through observing genetic factors associated with cancer. Their research is sharply focused on sharing knowledge and applying insights directly to patients’ care.
